Almaty is the largest city in Kazakhstan, and since 1929 it has been the capital of the country.
The best time to visit Almaty is April—may and September—October, when there are no winter frosts or summer heat. Moderate temperatures, blooming or, conversely, picturesquely withering nature, will be a great background for a walk in parks, museums, cathedrals.
The nature of Almaty is an amazing and unique range of landscapes: picturesque mountains, foothills, gorges of Dzungarian and Zailiysky Alatau, cool coniferous and deciduous forests, desert and semi-desert zones of national parks Altyn-Emel and Charyn, steppes, river network and their wetlands deltas, comparable to the sea of Balkhash and secluded mountain lakes.
Almaty is warm from mid-spring (+18-23ºC) to late autumn (+8-16ºC). In summer, the temperature is usually kept in the area of +24-30ºC. At the same time the city is surrounded by greenery and is full of cafes, restaurants with summer terraces, where you can drink soft drinks and eat.
In Almaty you will find something to do every day: festivals, concerts, parties — the cultural program never stops
Almaty is the epicenter of Oriental cuisine: Uzbek, Chinese, Dungan, Uighur and Kazakh cuisine in all its multicolored diversity. Taste explosion and a hurricane of spices. Come try! Tasty and inexpensive only in Almaty.
